In 1995 JSCC MSW Quality Management System was approved by LRQA (L'loyds Register Quality Assurance) (UK) to the requirements of ISO 9002-94.
In 1998 and 2001 LRQA re-approved the plant's Quality Management System for another three-year period.
Starting from June, 2002 MSW annually re-approves both the Quality Management System and the rolled products with UK CARES (UK based Certification Body).
In February, 2001 MSW agreed with the above two Certification Bodies a two-year schedule of transition from ISO 9002-94 to ISO 9001 - 2000. A schedule was approved by the General Director of the plant and the plan required the plant's Quality Management System to be adapted to the provisions of ISO 9001 - 2000 by the end of 2002. The schedule was fulfilled as early as in October, 2002 and the plant submitted a completely new version of the Quality Management System to ISO 9001 - 2000 for the audit of LRQA.
Recommendations given by LRQA and UK CARES were duly noted and documentation of the Quality Management System was amended accordingly. In December, 2003 JSCC MSW received UK CARES Certificate of Approval to ISO 9001-2000. And LRQA Certificate of Approval was granted to the plant in March, 2004 for a period of three years.
LRQA and UK CARES are world-known Certification Bodies based in the UK and provide certification services to ISO standards in more than 100 countries. These two Bodies have been accredited with the following Accreditation Committees:

Many times the plant was awarded for the achievements in the Product Quality Management and Improvement and in the market development. 12 International Awards confirm a good name and international recognition of Moldova Steel Works.
These successful results have been ensured by a well-planned continuous improvement and development of production processes and the Quality Management System of the plant.
Since 1986, over USD 150 mln. have been invested to up-grade and improve production processes (modernisation of production processes, implementation of new practices, installation of new equipment, automation and control instruments, testing equipment, introduction of new types of products).
The Automatic Control System within the plant ensures the on-line performance of the operations such as monitoring production methods and processes, building and keeping the process database, registration of process and production data, issuing reports to verify and monitor the management efficiency, including the efficiency of the product quality management.
The above ensures the stable quality in terms of the continuous production process.
The plant's Quality Policy grounds on principals of the preventive strategic planning to ensure a continuous improvement of the Quality Management System and production development, including up-dating of the existing equipment and installation of new ones, development and implementation of new production processes, higher value added products highly demanded on the markets, with the aim to meet the existing and future requirements of customers and to achieve objectives of the company.
